Newcomers to tasting rooms are sometimes surprised and ev en appalled to see other tasters spitting a mouth-ful of wine into the dump bucker. Actually, this is a very common and necessary practice among experienced tasters.
We encourage spitting as a tasting technique, and to help keep palatyes clean, and heads clear. In crowded tasting rooms, or where buckers are too full for comfort, request a paper or a plastic cup for more discreet spitting.
