Xiangjiang River Scenic Belt （湘江风光带）

The Xiangjiang River Scenic Belt is a massive, 26-kilometer (16 mi) open-front public park stretching along the banks of the Xiang River in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. Dubbed the “Bund of Changsha,” this multi-functional waterfront corridor seamlessly integrates flood control, historical landmarks, modern green spaces, and vibrant citizen recreation squares.

Core Highlights & Attractions

Orange Isle (Juzizhou): Located right in the center of the river, this historic sandbar features the massive, world-famous Mao Zedong Youth Art Sculpture and offers panoramic vistas of the city skyline on both banks.
Du Fu Jiangge (Du Fu Pavilion): A majestic, traditional Chinese pavilion built in honor of the legendary Tang Dynasty poet, Du Fu. It lights up beautifully after dusk and serves as a premier night photography spot.
Cultural Squares & Greenbelts: The belt is comprised of more than ten diverse exercise plazas, folk music nodes, lush windmills, and localized bars that animate the riverfront.

Essential Visitor Information

Admission & Hours: The entire park is completely free and open 24 hours a day.
Best Time to Visit: Late afternoon into the evening. This allows you to catch the sunset over Yuelu Mountain and watch the high-rise buildings light up the night skyline.
Getting Around: Renting a bicycle is the most convenient way to explore the vast layout. Alternatively, you can book a Xiang River Evening Cruise to see the light show from the water.

Convenient Public Transit

The scenic belt is explicitly connected to the Changsha Metro Network via three primary stations:

Xiangjiang Middle Road Station (Line 1): Directly drops you off at the eastern section near the lively Wuyi Square area.
Juzizhou Station (Line 2): Exits directly underneath Orange Isle in the middle of the river.
Yingwanzhen Station (Line 2): Connects to the western bank close to Yuelu Mountain.
